MEET CHARLIE

Charlie Hartz is an entrepreneur with decades of leadership and management experience, most recently opening ScentHound Aiken, a dog grooming and wellness service. In 2023, Charlie sold four Dunkin' Donuts franchises in Aiken and North Augusta after several years of success. Prior to this, Charlie spent 30 years managing country clubs across the globe – including the Woodside Plantation Country Club here in Aiken.

Hartz served as the second-term Chairman of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce in 2024. Additionally, he serves in many other leadership roles: Aiken Corporation Board, Coastal Carolina National Bank Advisory Board, and the United Way Board. 

 

Charlie holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Alfred University. He has been married to his wife Kitsie Hartz for 20+ years and has a stepdaughter, Katie.

Elected in November 2024, he is now serving his first term in the South Carolina State House.
